Special Class in an Integrated Setting (SCIS) & Special Class (SC)

Advanced Therapy integrated classrooms are comprised of both general and special education students and educational staff. Specifically, classroom staffing includes both a full time Special Education teacher and full time General Education teacher who work as effective co-teachers to support the learning needs and styles of all students while promoting a fully inclusive learning environment. The class is further supported by a minimum of two teacher assistants with all students benefiting from a decreased student to staff ratio resultantly.

Advanced Therapy special classrooms are comprised of special education students (only) and educational staff. Specifically, classroom staffing includes a full time Special Education teacher and a minimum of two teacher assistants with all students benefiting from a decreased student to staff ratio resultantly. Maximum student enrollment is 8 with decreased student class size allowing for maximal student development and meaningful skill aquisition.

Within both our Integrated and Special Class options, students receive related services from skilled and qualified practitioners who work cohesively with the educational team to support maximal student goal achievement and new skill attainment including spontaneous skill carryover in the home and academic contexts.

Programs And Locations

It is important to the mission of Advanced Therapy to provide programming in multiple locations in and around the Capital Region to maximize student, family and school district accessibility. We currently offer both Special Class in an Integrated Setting (SCIS) and Special Class (SC) in multiple locations with programs operating on the school calendar, Monday through Friday, with five hours of daily instruction and an additional 30 minute lunch period.

Advanced Therapy is approved to provide full day, 5 hour integrated and special class programs. Type of program and associated program hours vary based on the location of the program. Please contact us directly for more information or to schedule a tour at one of our sites!
