LEADING PROVIDER IN PEDIATRIC THERAPY SERVICES

Advanced Therapy is a leader in providing pediatric therapy and educational services since 1998. We provide all inclusive therapy and educational evaluative and direct services to students in over 30 school districts as well as to children via itinerant early intervention and preschool individualized services. Advanced Therapy also provides center based Pre-K services via Special Class (SC) and Special Class in an Integrated Setting (SCIS) programming which include a 2 .5 – 5 hour preschool enrichment program that is at no cost for those children who qualify.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Our Occupational Therapists render services to children demonstrating functional skill acquisition delays in the areas of fine motor, visual motor, perceptual, sensory processing, muscle strength and coordination, graphomotor, adaptive and life skills. Via the use of purposeful and meaningful treatment strategies our therapists are able to empower students to achieve goals and generalize them into the academic, home and community contexts.

Physical THERAPY

Our Physical Therapists render services to children demonstrating functional skill acquisition delays in the areas of gross motor, ambulation, strength and agility, balance and coordination, postural control and proprioception, motor planning, sensory processing, muscle strength and coordination and life skills. Via the use of purposeful and meaningful treatment strategies our therapists are able to empower students to achieve goals and generalize them into the academic, home and community contexts.

SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY

Our Speech Language Pathologists render services to children demonstrating functional skill acquisition delays in the areas of receptive language, expressive language, articulation, swallowing, pragmatics, articulation and stuttering. Via the use of purposeful and meaningful treatment strategies our therapists are able to empower students to achieve goals and generalize them into the academic, home and community contexts.

SPECIAL EDUCATION ITINERANT SERVICES

Our Special Education Teachers work with children within their educational childcare and or home settings to provide specialized individual or group instruction and/or indirect services to address cognitive, learning, social emotional and adaptive needs. Special Education teachers assist the child’s classroom teacher in adjusting the learning environment and/or modifying their instructional methods to meet the individual needs of the student.

SPECIAL EDUCATION IN INTEGRATED SETTING AND SPECIAL CLASS

Our Special Education Teachers work with children ages three to five in classroom settings in collaboration with area school districts/preschools. Our teachers encourage the growth of the whole child through a combination of individualized instruction, whole group instruction, and play. Through this approach our teachers support the cognitive, language, physical, and social-emotional growth of children. Our teachers work in partnership with various teaching staff and service providers in the classroom setting to ensure children’s needs are met, Individualized Education Programs are implemented, and that children are provided with the level of support needed to participate in age –appropriate activities in the educational setting. Our teachers are also in close communication with parents and families to build and strengthen the home-school connection, and to further the mission of each school district we partner with.

TEACHER OF THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED

Our Teachers of the Blind Visually Impaired (TVI) provide direct and/or consultative special education services specific to vision loss. The TVI provides support to students, teachers, and parents and acts as a liaison with community services. The TVI works with the educational team by advising the team about ways of enhancing the student’s learning by adapting activities and materials to the student’s abilities.

TEACHER OF THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING

Our Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TOD) provide direct and or consultative services to students with an identified hearing loss of difference. The TOD addresses the unique educational, communication, and social/emotional needs of the student with hearing loss and provides guidance to the student’s family and school personnel.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS/TEACHER ASSISTANTS

Our Teachers and Teacher Assistants provide general education services within a district UPK setting. Our staff provide children with a safe, nurturing, child-centered learning environment that supports the development of the whole child. Teachers in these classrooms work with children who meet district eligibility for pre-kindergarten. Our teachers focus on implementing a curriculum that engages and motivates children to become lifelong and enthusiastic learners. Through play and structured tasks and activities, our teachers support children with their cognitive, language, physical and social-emotional growth. Teachers are careful to plan activities that are a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated tasks, in order to promote the growth of the whole child. Teachers also complete intentional planning of tasks to focus instruction on the individual learning styles and needs of children. Teachers encourage the active engagement of parents or guardians through many whole family activities throughout the school year, in an effort to build a positive home-school connection.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Our School Psychologists evaluate the psychological, cognitive, social and adaptive development of children as referred by the Committee on Special Education (CSE/CPSE). Additionally, Advanced Therapy School Psychology staff evaluate each student’s developmental abilities and assist in identifying student strengths and weaknesses as they relate to daily function and engagement across contexts. Evaluative outcomes include but are not limited to behavior intervention and related service goal setting and planning as applicable. Advanced Therapy School Psychologists collaborate with teachers, parents and school personnel to create safe, healthy and supportive learning environments that yield maximal student achievement.

Job Coach Transitional Services

Our Job Coaches accompany high school special education students to a variety of community-based work settings and provide on site coaching to allow students to become acclimated to and gain real work experiences that can be built upon for future employment success and retainment. Through these non-paid internships, students explore a variety of job opportunities and scenarios’ that assist in developing professional pragmatics, work skills and task problem solving skills while promoting flexibility and independence. Ultimately, through these internships students gain valuable career and work readiness skills.
